Out of several MMOs I've played over the years, EVE takes the cake when it comes to most number of awful guilds.
I have found that as explained in this article, there are a lot of people who take EVE way too seriously and take themselves way too seriously. It goes to show, people are what make MMOs fun and also what makes them sometimes fucking awful.
